The excellent RSPB reserve also adjoins Dovestone Park. A quiet tree lined private road takes you to the nearby village of Greenfield with shops and pubs. A little further and you are in Uppermill with its many stone buildings, larger range of shops, eateries, museum and the attractive canal with narrowboat trip options. In the heart of the Derbyshire Dales and on the edge of the Peak District, Breach Farm is a 200 year old farmhouse situated in beautiful countryside with southerly views over the fields to Carsington Water.  We are situated half a mile outside Carsington, a small picturesque village with a pub and church.                                               The  farmhouse B&B has its own separate guests entrance, comfortable sitting room with log fire, colour television, DVD and a selection of books, games and magazines. Wi-Fi is also available. French doors open onto your own garden and patio. Enjoy a hearty English breakfast which is served in your sitting room. Locally produced bacon and sausage, Derbyshire oatcakes, homemade bread and eggs from our own free range hens. As well as a selection of fresh fruit, cereals and yogurts. Special diets can be catered for, but please advise on booking. In the area we have a selection of good pubs and restaurants for evening meals, or both Matlock and Ashbourne are within 7 miles if you would like more choice. We have two individually furnished bedrooms. Upstairs a Double with King sized brass bed, and downstairs a Twin room. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers. The bedrooms have radio/alarm clocks, hairdryers, a selection of magazines, Wi-Fi access and refreshment making facilities. We are in a ideal location for exploring Derbyshires many attractions, from the splendour of Chatsworth House and the many National Trust properties in the area to riding the trams at Crich Tramway Museum.  Discovering  the many walks in the White Peak with its limestone dales or the wide open spaces of the gritstone moors of the Dark Peak.  Cycling on the High Peak Trail, fishing or birdwatching at Carsington Water, or just having a exploring in the historic market towns of Ashbourne , Bakewell or Buxton. We are no longer a working farm but sheep graze our fields and our free-range hens do like to explore.   Our aim is to make our guests visit as comfortable as possible, and to help them enjoy their stay at Breach Farm and the surrounding area.

Originally traditional accommodation for a farm worker's family; the cottage has been completely modernised to offer cosy, high quality, very well-equipped accommodation with delightful views and the amenities of the village on the doorstep. The cottage sleeps 2-3 people. The living room has two sofas and an electric wooder-burner effect stove. The TV/DVD player together with some holiday DVDs are discretely positioned within a cupboard so that they can be kept out of the way if not required. Pass though a low doorway to the well fitted kitchen with dining area. The kitchen includes all you would need for a self-catering break. Through french windows to South-West facing patio with outside dining area and small utility room which houses washer and dryer. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a double 'four poster' bed. There is also a single bedroom with south-westerly views. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and adequate space for bags to be stored. Amenities Full gas central heating, additional heating from electric woodburner-effect stove in sitting room. Water is heated as it is used from a gas powered combi boiler. Electric cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer in outside utility room (converted from outside toilet). Colour TV (including Freeview) with DVD and stereo CD player. Wireless internet access, fuel and power included with rental. Bed linen and towels included in rental. Off road parking for 1 small car, additional roadside parking available.
